Perpignan wing Wandile Mjekevu has revealed his future lies in France rather than in his native South Africa.
Hailing from Durban, Mjekevu spent time with the Lions and Sharks and represented the Junior Springboks before moving to Perpignan at the start of this season.
The 22-year-old also made an impact in Super Rugby when he scored a hat-trick for the Lions against the Chiefs.
Now based in France, Mjekevu has made a bright start at Perpignan and is fully focused on performing well for the Catalan side with an aim to eventually represent Les Bleus.
"One day I'd like to play for France, but my current focus is with Perpignan," Mjekevu told Die Burger.
"I've set myself new goals and want to play for Perpignan on a regular basis and see my long-term future here.
There are negotiations to extend my contract here to two years. South Africa is not an option. I've met a girl here and I love the life in France."
